During his presentation (in English) at ENSEGID, Steven Loheide will present his course entitled: ‘Trees are Groundwater Stakeholders Too’.
Groundwater-dependent ecosystems, such as wetlands and riparian forests, are well identified in arid regions. However, in temperate and humid regions, it is often assumed that forests do not depend on groundwater because rainfall is generally sufficient to meet the water demands of plants. Steven Loheide’s work challenges this assumption.
Location: ENSEGID Amphitheatre, 1 allée F. Daguin
33600 Pessac
Date: Monday 16 March
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
This lecture is intended for students, teachers, researchers and professionals interested in geosciences, hydrology and sustainable water resource management.
