The CNRS’s Unusual Visits took place on 3 October at B18N. This was a unique opportunity for participants to experience a real oceanographic campaign and unravel the geological and climatic mysteries of yesterday and tomorrow. We opened our doors to seven participants (aged 13 to 77), who were able to explore the laboratory’s core library and follow the stages of an oceanographic mission.
Description of the visit:
Discover the disasters and climatic events of the past by conducting unique experiments alongside scientists. Sediment coring, geophysical study of the seabed and observation of underwater avalanches: take part in a tailor-made oceanographic campaign at the heart of the laboratory and unravel the geological and climatic mysteries of yesterday and tomorrow!
A big thank you to the teams who made this immersion possible, to the participants for their curiosity, and to the OASU and CNRS Nouvelle-Aquitaine for this day.
