Arnaud Le Pevedic - 2nd prize in the Krone Award presentations - INTERCOH 2023 in Incheon, Korea - 22/09/2023
METHYS team
INTERCOH is an international conference aimed at better understanding the dynamics of cohesive sediments. My presentation, entitled: ‘Evolution of suspended sediment fluxes following seagrass loss in a mesotidal lagoon’, revealed the addition of new parameters allowing the impact of marine vegetation on sediment dynamics to be considered in our numerical model (in particular the trapping of sediments by leaves and the stabilisation of the sedimentary bed by roots). The application of this model to the Bay of Arcachon has improved our knowledge of the influence of seagrass cover on sediment flows in a coastal lagoon. The main finding of this study is that most of the morphological changes that have taken place in the Arcachon Basin over the last 30 years can be explained by the regression of seagrass beds.

Hélène Budzinski - Grand prix Pierre Süe - 2022
Director of the UMR EPOC, Research Director of the LPTC team
Grand Prix de la Société Chimique de France .
The SCF values the involvement of its members and recognises work that contributes to advances in the chemical sciences. The many prizes and distinctions awarded by the SCF reward chemists who have contributed to progress in a field of pure or applied research. They honour individuals who have demonstrated excellence in contributing to the development of chemistry and the SCF. They are awarded to young researchers in recognition of the originality of their work and their commitment to science. The annual Le Bel and Süe Grand Prizes are awarded for internationally recognised work within the scope of the SCF’s activities, as well as for 3 particularly fruitful binational collaborations (Franco-German, Franco-Spanish and Franco-Portuguese).

Hélène Budzinski is one of the world’s leading specialists in the biogeochemical monitoring of ultra-traces of contaminants in the terrestrial and aquatic environment. Her pioneering work in analytical chemistry now enables ecotoxicological monitoring of ‘emerging’ pollutants dispersed in the environment, including many pharmaceutical compounds and endocrine disruptors.

Magalie Baudrimont was awarded the ‘Talents U’ prize in the ‘Research and Innovations’ category in 2019 for the PLASCOTE project funded by Labex COTE.
Team EA
The Talents U trophies were awarded on Tuesday 17 September 2019 during the University of Bordeaux’s back-to-school evening. They recognise the great variety and quality of the projects undertaken by the community.
